3 weeks old
These are hungry hungry puppies. They are like little sharks when they wake up for feeding time. Today everyone got their nails clipped and filed. This along with all the baths and before they go to their new homes- full grooms with shaved face, feet and tails will help make grooming an easy thing for their new families.

Puppy pictures!
Over a week old now our pups are so adorable. They are more active and we're not too much longer until eyes open and then the fun really begins!
Puppies are listed by their collar colour which is how we track them.

Puppies are here!
Well leave it to Bella to whelp in style. We were outside playing and 10 minutes later out comes puppy number 1!
She had a very quick labour considering and our final total is:
7 Girls (6 phantom, 1 cream)
5 boys (4 phantom 1 cream).
We'll get individual pics up of the pups in the next couple days.

Puppy Updates- the 2012 Aussie Litter
I LOVE getting updates from my puppy families. We keep in touch throughout the year. But I love even more than pictures!
This is Belle (puppy #5) out with her dad on the trail. Just love this photo.
Hush is still here with us. We're concentrating on herding now and have been out to work the sheep several times. We have Sheep camp coming up at the end of August, 4 days of clinics with Trudee and Dave Viklund. We're very excited. After a long winter we're trying to play some catch up. Hush is keen on the sheep and considering my knowledge is minimal we're making progress. She even has her own signature move- she leaps over the sheep! (watch about 20 seconds into the video).

The Count Down Is On
Only six days to go for Bella. We're all very excited for these puppies after our long wait for this litter. She's feeling really good still- has bounce in her step and is happy go lucky- though it's short lived before she does her beached whale impersonation on the floor.
Today she was bathed and shaved down, so she's a low key groom while she is busy with puppies. And well we'll be busy with puppies!
Our puppies are raised in our house. They spend the first few weeks in my bedroom- where they are separated from the rest of the house and it's easy to keep a close eye on them even through the night. At 3-4 weeks we move our litters to the living room. Through the 8-9 weeks puppies are with us we do the following with each and every puppy:

At 3-4 weeks we move our litters to the living room. Through the 8-9 weeks puppies are with us we do the following with each and every puppy:
- Fed a high quality diet: We feed primarly raw but will also introduce puppies to a high quality kibble before they head to their new homes. We also feed Puppy Gold nutritional supplement to the mom and babies
- Groomed: Our puppies are groomed several times before they go to their new homes. They are introduced in a low key positive manner to baths, drying (including High velocity dryer just like at a groomers) clippers (Faces feet and tail will be shaved at least once) and the nail dremel/clippers.
- Clicker training: All of our puppies are introduced to clicker training. We highly recommend the book "Control Unleashed Puppy Program" to our puppy homes and use these exercises while introducing the puppies to the clicker.
- Crates: All of our puppies are introduced to crates. We use the Crate Games dvd exercises with the puppies. They spend time in the crate in groups then alone before they head to their new homes.
- Socialization: We socialize our puppies in a safe and confidence building manner. Our puppies are introduced not just to many new people, kids but also other dogs, and new experiences to build their confidence and social ability before heading to their new homes.
- Personality assessment: We want to match the best puppy for your family. The puppy personality assessment helps us confirm which puppies are best for which homes.
