More puppies head out and who is still available

The last couple weeks has seen several puppies find their new homes. Bianca, Sunny and Rupert (white, yellow and blue collars) have found their new families.

That said we have 3 puppies still available.

Cherry (burgundy collar) this lovely girl is a Silver/Cream phantom. She is smaller puppy and feminine in her looks. She is correct and has good drive. This girl will be an excellent obedience or agility dog. Sweet, likes to cuddle but also enjoys playing on her own.

Oz- (Green collar puppy)- This boy is full of personality.  He is a busy puppy who LOVES his people. He's happiest hanging out with us, and would prefer to be with people than play with his siblings. Oz temperament tested as a brave bold puppy and would be a great agility prospect. He is a black/cream phantom and is smaller in size for a male.

Three Months Old

Yup we still have some puppies with us. Rupert (Blue) Oz (Green) Cherry (Burgundy) and Sunny (yellow) are still looking for just the right family to be a part of!

Today was bath and trim day. My daughter Jillian took charge of this, so I could work on school work. She's learning more and more about grooming and caring for dogs, last summer working for several days with one of Canada's top handlers at a dog show. She's become an invaluable helper and my son is quickly following in her footsteps!

Puppies are doing so well being grown up dogs. We're working hard on house training, and everyone sleeps in kennels at night now.

Rupert- 3months old- This boy is a lovely laid back boy. He temperament tested well at 8 weeks, but did show some sensitivity to noise This is not something we notice around the house- he's fine with vacuums, blow dryers etc. A total cuddle bug this boy will be a great obedience or family pet. He'd probably really enjoy Agility as well!

Oz- 3 months old - This boy is Mr Personality. He loves attention and will ask for it. He's got opinions but loves to be with his people.  He's the boy people tend to be drawn to due to his charisma. He is an energetic BOLD puppy will could be a great agility dog. He wants to go out and take on the world with a person by his side!

Cherry- 3 months old- this girl is a bold girl who is the leader when it comes to her siblings. She is brave and curious and will do great in a performance home. She is a stunner looks wise and will grow up to be a silver/cream.

Sunny- 3 months old- This girl is a doll.  She loves to cuddle, be with people and wants to just be a super puppy all the time.  She is such a teddy bear to hang out with we thought the fuzzy look suited her perfect. Her young groomer gave her a A+ to groom and that she was a superstar for the entire groom. This girl is the puppy you can do anything with. She showed excellent retrieve and her willingness to work with people could make her a great obedience dog. But she says agility or just being a great family dog would suit her fine too!

what do you get when you let all 6 pups who are still here out to play in the living room together? a bit of Chaos.  A few adult dogs trying to hide. They sure are cute though.

Everyone is leaving!

Ok it does make me sad this litter had ups and downs and the large size at times made it overwhelming. 

But as each one leaves my heart gives joy and pain at once  I miss my pup. I do. Each had their own little thing that makes them who they are and special to me. But it also makes me full of joy hearing how happy and excited their new families are. 

Tonight the cream girl (black collar) got groomed as she goes to her family tomorrow. She reminds me a lot of Bella in personality.  And as she slobbers me in kisses (and chews on me) I'm reminded how they all wiggled their ways into my heart.  

All shots the night before they head to their homes. I hope their families realize how much I love keeping in touch and getting updates and even more visits! 

Puppies playing 9 weeks old- Video!

Another puppy video.  Starting to feel like less and less puppies each day (Ok it is).  Tonight we were outside playing with Hush the aussie.

A couple puppies to their new homes, and a playtime video

No ten puppies do not feel like less than 12 when they get tumbling about under your feet.  Today puppies went for their health checks and the two pups who are staying local went to their new homes.  Brown puppy, and grey collar puppy are in their new families and I'm told settling in well.
 Officially our list of puppies who have homes are:
Brown Puppy- Saskatoon

Red Puppy- Staying here for now

Puppies were great at the vet (and got oodles of cuddles and playtime with everyone at the office!). They aren't quite ready for bed after such a long day however.  So here's a short video of them playing.  At the end they  notice I'm taping and head over to say hi.

This weekend was a big weekend- puppies were temperament tested, which will allow us to start to assign them to those on the list, as well as let us know which puppies are still available in the next week. They were bathed, dried (with the big dryer just like at the groomers) clipped and then photos were taken.

We also hunt tested the puppies.  All of them showed great interest in the bird wing including carrying it around. Those who also showed good retrieve and stability with noises should make some nice gun dogs!

White Puppy: Female Phantom Will be Black/Cream
This is an independent puppy who is happy to go out and do her own thing. She showed a good retrieve and is a bold puppy.

Purple Puppy- Female- will be Blue/Cream
This girl is a nice puppy with a personality that will make her successful in all things she tries. Her personality testing showed her to be a dog who likes being with people and is pretty laid back when it comes to things like sounds and sights. She showed a good retrieve.

 

Tan Puppy: Female- Will be Black/Cream
Another lovely middle of the road puppy with a bit more energy. She showed a good retrieve. 

 Red Puppy: Female: will be Black/ Cream
This girl may be a bit more cautious around new people but she still wants to make friends. She is brave when it comes to things like sight and sound giving them little care. This girl would love to have a person of her own and will be very loyal once she does!  This girl is not available at this time and will be staying at Ravenwood to grow up a bit.

Green Puppy: Male: Black/Cream
This is another nice middle of the road puppy.  He is brave boy who is ready to tackle challenges he's faced with.  He should be a great performance dog in obedience or agility.  He showed a nice retrieve. With his braveness around sounds and the interest he showed on our hunting test this boy would be a great gun dog! 

Brown Puppy: Male: Cream
This is a lovely puppy who is going to make a great family pet. His temperament testing showed him to like people and just be a happy boy. This boy is not available.

Black Puppy: Female: Cream
This girl showed us that she can be a bit unconfident at start but quickly gains it as she gets used to a situation. She showed a retrieve and was good on the tests with sights and sound. She will be a great performance dog for the person who spends some time to build her confidence.  She reminds us a lot of Bella in her personality.

Burgundy Puppy: Female: Silver/Cream
This girl's coat is going to end up silver making her very eye catching in color.  This girl really likes people and has shown herself to be a softer dog. However her soft personality doesn't keep her from being brave when it comes to sights and sounds.  A nice family pet for the active family.

 Orange Puppy: Male: Blue/Cream
This boy has shown to be just what we thought.  He likes people, is a nice middle of the road puppy and brave in new situations. A good retrieve he should be a good performance pup for obedience or agility.

 Blue Puppy: Male: Black/Cream
This is a lovely bigger pup who is quite laid back and sweet.  A nice middle of the road pup he will be a lovely family pet.  He showed himself to be a bit sensitive to sounds so his family must work to build his confidence withthat. He showed a nice retrieve.

Grey Puppy: Male: Black/Cream
Another lovely laid back boy.  He is one of the larger pups in the litter and is a total cuddle bug. This boy showed to be pretty easy going and a nice middle of the road puppy. He has a nice drive to toys- but likes to go play with them. A great family pet in the making.

 Yellow Puppy: Female: Blue/Cream
Lovely larger girl she is a nice middle of the road puppy. She showed good retrieve and is steady when it comes to sounds and sights. A brave girl she will be a great family pet or performance dog.

Seven weeks old- Videos

wow does time fly.  They are getting so big and love to wrestle and play now.  It's been raining for two days so their indoor time has been more then we'd usually like. So tonight to give them a good play time I opened up their pen to make it bigger so they can run and play in the house.

Today we also started doing some crate game work with them.  It takes a long time 5-10 minutes per puppy at a time. Which with 12 puppies means a lot of time!. Every puppy gets at least one session of crate games and some time alone in a crate before they head to their new home.  Over the last couple of weeks they have also been spending time in small groups in kennels to get used to the idea. So far everyone is doing well.

Puppies have also now been introduced to walking on a leash and will do so again before heading to their new homes. This weekend we will be temperament testing which will then allow those currently on the list to choose their puppies. In the next week or so we will have a list of who is still available.

7 week old video

Yes it's been a crazy week or two here at the Ravenwood household.  Between puppies and school being back (For me and the kids) Pictures have not been taken. However here is a video to tide you over.  Saturday plans are doing our temperament testing, which will give us a better idea of the innate characteristics of each puppy and help us offer you the best matches for your families needs.  As well we will be bathing, shaving and taking pictures.

Six weeks old tomorrow

This video was done this afternoon- right after they had their afternoon meal. They then spent some time in a kennel while we were out for a short time and will continue to do so in groups and then on their own over the next few weeks.  As well we'll start working on crate games over the next two weeks to make them really like their kennels!

5 week old photos!

Most likely we won't get pictures again until they are 7.5 weeks old. So today was as usual for our weekends 4+ hours spent bathing, drying and then photographing puppies.  Today puppies got to meet a new dog (Thanks Dobby for coming to visit) and got to cuddle and snuggle with some new people!
